La Valiz Hotel - Lille

excellent spot for exploring attractions and parks in lille

I had a great experience staying at this hotel, as it's just a few steps away from the fine Saint-Maurice church and around a 10-minute walk to the beautiful zoo, making my city strolls enjoyable and convenient.

Location, room equipment

Low ceilings and some street noise when the window is open (5th floor).

Very conveniently located for both train stations in Lille. Room was fine but I did have to get the lift to the first floor, walk through the breakfast room then up about 9 stairs to get to my first floor room - not a major problem though.

The room was cozy, but the bathroom had no door, awkward.

Affordable hotel in a shopping area close enough to square in front of station, sightseeing and trips into Belgium and the shopping mall. New-fashioned & nicely equipped unit with very good bathroom and coffee machines. Central location and absolutely kind stuff at the reception desk. Again, walking distance to Westfield Euralille Shopping Mall.

Staff at reception always helpful at all ti mes of the day. Our room was comfortable, clean and the location very convenient.

The superior double room was modern and comfortable, enhanced by a good air conditioning system. The open bathroom setup lacked privacy, and the balcony was notably unclean with leftover cigarette butts.

Amazingly central opposite the train station and near Lille Europe. My room was small but I am not living in it and it was tastefully decorated in navy and lemon. Double-glazing helped cut out the trafic and people nose but both were evident if you wanted to leave a window open. Just too convenient for rail travellers.

Simple, fast check-in. Very pleasant staff. Secure car parking easily accessible.

Stayed for three nights, but only had wi-fi access for one of these, the hotel's wi-fi service having broken down just as we arrived.. Having been camping for a week, wi-fi access was one of the main reasons for staying at the hotel, and so this was particularly disappointing. We also had a conflict each night between being too hot with the windows closed, or leaving them open and being continually attacked by mosquitos! It was actually more comfortable to live with the bites... Screens would have been a reasonable compromise.

This hotel's prime location made it easy to explore Lille's attractions. The room was spacious for my family, with a modern bathroom and comfortable beds. A big highlight was the excellent soundproofing. Despite being in a central spot, I barely heard any street noise. The staff was consistently friendly. The lack of privacy due to bathroom doors missing was awkward, even for a married couple. Breakfast was a good spread, but during peak hours, items like scrambled eggs ran out quickly, and there was only one staff member to replenish them. Consistent breakfast service would enhance the overall experience.

The kind and very helpful personnel, gratis and working WiFi in all rooms (even 5th floor), late check in, very good position but quiet (my room was not at the fron side), very confortable and clean room

I missed the curtain in the shower and I think the breakfast was expensive

The duplex room's self-catering kitchenette offered a good option for families. Plenty of space for moving around.

The kitchenette lacked basics like washing up liquid and dish cloths, inconvenient. The air conditioning struggled in the heat, and the bathroom's lack of privacy due to the sliding door without a latch wasn't ideal for multiple guests.

Perfect for a short stay, next to Euralille shopping centre and opposite railstation, old city few minutes walk, hotel staff very friendly and helpfull,

Parking is not at the hotel, but a 5 minutes walk to a parking garage,

The city centre location was perfect and the staff were very helpful.
